Teamwork Dominates Because It's Elusive

You know what’s a great competitive edge?  Teamwork.  In sports, we always acknowledge pure athletic skill, and without a doubt, you need skill in order to dominate.

But beyond skill, when skill itself is spread evenly across a certain number of teams, it’s teamwork that sets the good from the great.  The ability to really work well with others is, luckily, not an easy achievement.  I say “luckily” because it ensures the success of any endeavor if truly high-quality teamwork is at the core of it.

Teamwork is powerful simply because it’s actually counter-intuitive to the naturally-selfish individual.  You must give to the team before the team can carry you.

Teamwork is also powerful because it’s also so easy to give to the wrong team, or to give too much you have nothing left for yourself.  These errs in judgement can leave you cursing collaboration; but it’s just testament to the reason good teams dominate.
